BOARD CHAIRS’, PRINCIPALS’ AND DEA TRUSTEES GATHERING KINDLY HOSTED BY ST DOMINIC’S PRIORY COLLEGE, ADELAIDE

DEA Trustees, Ministry Board Chairs and Principals met in Adelaide on 3 – 4 September 2025.

Fr James McEvoy opened the gathering on Wednesday evening with his keynote address: Trends in Catholic Life and their meaning for Catholic Schools.

Dinner followed at the Atura Hotel at which DEA Chair, Tony O’Byrne paid tribute to retiring Siena College Principal, Elizabeth Hanney.

Former DEA Board Chair, Eileen Young, paid tribute to Sr Julianna Drobik OP, who is completing her term as DEA Trustee at the end of the year.

St Dominic’s Priory College welcomed the group to North Adelaide on Thursday with a moving opening liturgy reflecting the particular history and story of the College at key landmark points.  Guests appreciated the opportunity to meet and experience the rich learning that students were engaged in.

The program included consideration of the DEA Formation Policy, participation in a safeguarding session and the opportunity to hear from a couple of principals share their approaches to problem solving at the coalface.
