DEA SAFEGUARDING RECOGNITION CEREMONY

The National Catholic Safeguarding Standards (ACSL) Recognition Ceremony was held on Wednesday 26 November at Cabra Dominican College in Adelaide.

The Ceremony was held to recognise the Dominican Education Australia (DEA) South Australian Ministries being the first to undertake an audit against the National Catholic Safeguarding Standards, which align with the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations, and include accountability commitments made by Catholic leadership following the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.

The event was attended by representatives from DEA, Cabra Dominican College, St Mary’s College and St Dominic’s Priory College who accepted their Certificate of Compliance from Dr David Treanor, ACSL Director, Safeguarding and Compliance.

DEA is the first Ministerial Public Juridic Person to undertake an audit against the National Catholic Safeguarding Standards

Additionally, our ministries in NSW and Victoria – Santa Sabina College, St Lucy’s School and Siena College have also successfully met the ACSL NCSS.  Separate events will be held in the new school year to recognise their achievements.
