On behalf of Dominican Education Australia, I am delighted to announce the appointment of Mr David Patterson as Promoter of Mission and Identity. The Board of DEA looks forward to the contribution David will bring to the Vision and Mission of DEA, with his warm personality, his dedication to the principles underpinning Catholic, Dominican Education, in addition to his broad range of skills and experience in Adult Faith Formation.

David Patterson has a keen interest in adult faith formation and comes to Dominican Education Australia having previously been the Catholic Life & Faith Formation Coordinator for the Diocese of Broken Bay. He has been a high school teacher of Religion in the United States, and a Learning Facilitation Officer for the St Vincent de Paul Society, amongst other roles.  Most recently, David was engaged in parish work in Monte Carlo, Monaco.

David appreciates the life-giving integration of faith with life. Drawn to Catholic Social Teaching, he is passionate about the Gospel imperative to engage in works of love and mercy (Catholic Social Action).

With a mission lens, David is particularly interested in ‘meaning making’ in the study of religious charism and the generativity of religious story. Acknowledging we are a web of relationships, his hope is that all should come to a life-giving faith in God and embrace a sacramental appreciation of experience by being present to God, self, others and creation.

David commenced in his role on Monday 14 January 2019. He can be contacted at dpatterson@dominicaneducationaustralia.com.
