DEA INDUCTION DAY FOR NEW DIRECTORS

The Trustees of Dominican Education Australia held the annual Induction Day for new Directors of DEA Ministry Boards in Melbourne on Saturday 27 July 2024. The day provided a valuable opportunity for Trustees and new Directors to meet one another and to gain a greater insight into the DEA Network.

The program provided participants with an overview of the establishment of DEA and its canonical and civil structure, the rich Dominican story and tradition and opportunities for group dialogue to unpack the framework of Director’s responsibilities and accountabilities.  Director’s responsibility for the Catholic identity and stewardship of the Dominican charism, including Decision Making in the Dominican tradition was highlighted. Ministry Board responsibility for Safeguarding Children was a key focus of the afternoon workshop.
