Hats off to teachers this World Teachers’ Day!
Australia will celebrate the teaching profession on World Teachers’ Day on Friday 25 October 2024.
World Teachers’ Day honours the dedication, hard work and passion of teachers who play a crucial role in shaping the hearts, minds and futures of our young people.
We celebrate and give thanks for teachers in our Dominican Education Ministries, for their skilled work in educating, inspiring and supporting our students, and we pray every blessing upon them.
Your generous contributions are appreciated:
- in supporting the young people in your care
- sharing your passion for teaching in specialist areas
- in creating environments of mutual trust and respect
- empowering students to use their voice and take action to create a more just and compassionate world
Prayer for teachers in our Dominican Education Ministries:
Giver of all wisdom and greatest of all teachers,
look upon teachers with love.
Grant them the resolve to nurture eager minds
and to never give up on students who fall behind.
Kindle a spirit and passion in them,
it is the flame that ignites the love of learning in their students.
Help them see the potential in each student,
their belief in each of them means much more than the grade at the end.
Let the light of your example shine upon all teachers:
- To build up with their words
- To love with their mind
- To share with their heart
