NAIDOC WEEK: 2-9 July 2023
The term NAIDOC stands for National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee.
NAIDOC Week is an annual national celebration of First Nations peoples, history and culture, but it has its roots in the protest movement of the 1920s. NAIDOC Week’s history stretches back to 1920. Initially a day of protest, it has evolved into a week-long celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, culture and history.
